Phil Shaw is a multi-disciplinary artist that is constantly interested in pushing the ideas of pop culture. He studied art at Roger Williams University where he received his B.F.A in Visual Arts. After his education he moved to New York City to work for famed fashion photographer Steven Klein (whose clients include Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Alexander McQueen just to name a few). From experiencing the fame and life of a gay photographer from New York, Shaw works to create visuals that speak of Pop culture and the LGBT community with a splash of fantasy and glitter. He works to re-create Pop for our contemporary culture, deeming it Neo-Pop Art. Phil has worked with many known names in the LGBT Pop Sphere such as Sharon Needles and Davey Wavey among other. Expect work from Phil Shaw to be extremely colored, young, and while we are at it, you might even see a Unicorn or two.
